25 budget-friendly things on my bucket list for summer 2017

FullSizeRender 18Goodbye school, hello summer! Summer has got to be my favorite season, and this year will be no exception. I’m a strong believer that, despite burning within three minutes of entering the sun, I definitely require a healthy dose of sun-produced Vitamin D to be happy. Summertime makes me cheerier, sillier, happier, and even more creatively ambitious. At school, it’s easy to get bogged down in all the responsibilities that, sometimes, being driven to do things for yourself gets pushed to the back-burner. Lucky for you guys (!!), I’m taking this summer to revamp me, my blog, and my brand. Woohoo!

Every summer, I like to make myself a fun little bucket list of things I want to do before returning to school. Can you tell by now that I love lists? Many of these things are free (broke-college-girl-me is squealing!!), and many are local in Chicago.

Summer 2017 Bucket List

1- Free movies at Millenium Park

You can find the schedule here.

2- Chicago Botanical Garden

A blogger’s paradise for pics!

3- Drive-in movie

4- Lincoln Park Zoo

5- Eat at lots of restaurants from famous Chicago food articles/accounts

Here’s some of my favorites!

Spoon University’s Most IG Worthy Restaurants

6- Long drives through neighborhoods with nice houses

I like to pretend I’m a real-estate connoisseur.

7- Montrose Dog Beach

There’s a beach in Chicago dedicated to puppies of all kinds! Is that a dream or what!

8- Eataly

9- Little Italy/China Town/fun Chicago neighborhoods

10- Rooftop brunches

You can find the list for yourself here.

11- Go camping

12- Visit Jake’s family’s farm

13- Lake Geneva

14- Cub’s game

15- Chicago Hot Dog Fest

If you know anything about me, you must know how much I love hot dogs. I just found out about this event and I have to go.

16- Illinois State Fair

Fried food & country singers, sign me up for this!

17- Attend a Second City show

18- Go to a concert at the Ravinia Festival

You can find the schedule here.

19- Go to Logan Square’s Farmer’s Market

20- Walk along the 606

21- Go to local car shows in Plainfield

Each week is a different type of theme; Jake gets to see cool cars, I get to eat yummy food & go to a famous cupcake shop! We all win!

22- Arlington Race Track

23- Take a mini road trip

Suggestions anyone?!

24- Fresh fruit picking

25- Have a wonderfully relaxing summer with my friends & family!

Definitely the most important one to me. I’m excited to take this summer to soak in all the time I can with my loved ones before returning to school!

I hope that this can inspire you to start brainstorming about how to make your Summer 2017 the best one yet!

Let me know what you’re most excited for during these Summer months! xoxo
