In the most humble way possible, I’m a really good gift-giver. I have factual evidence to back this up, and I’m very proud of this skill. Sure, I may be the least athletic person you’ll meet, sure, I tend to throw all my clothes on a single chair in my room and neglect cleaning it for weeks…but, dang I can pick out a good gift! I think this skill comes from the fact that I’m an extremely sentimental person. I will rack my brain for weeks and weeks to come up with the perfect gift that will really resonate with the recipient, or will really speak to our relationship in some way. I’m not a fan of generic gifts and I never will be; I think that finding these perfect personalized gifts for each person is what makes me love gift-giving so much!
In case you don’t know yet, my mom is my absolute, 100% BFF forever and ever. I see myself resembling her and her tendencies each day and I could not be happier. I take every single chance I can to spoil her because she deserves everything in the world and more, so Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays to celebrate. Being at college this past year has really made me understand the concept of being budget-friendly, so I made it a mission to find perfect, personal gifts that any mom would love for under $50. She birthed you, you can spare a few dollars for your momma!
for any momma:
I personally got this book for my mom a few years ago and she loved it! It’s still displayed on our fireplace today. This book has fun little prompts for you to write about: talking about your favorite memories, what you love about her, what you’re thankful for, etc. Although this does take some time to fill out (I filled mine out during a car ride to Florida!), it is such a rewarding experience. Not only do you get to sit down and reflect on all the wonderful things about the woman you’re celebrating, but she will undoubtedly be moved by all of your touching words. This one definitely caused some happy tears!
Another one I’ve personally bought, and another one that moved my mom to tears! The fabric is so soft and comfy that anyone would enjoy it, and it makes it even better knowing that all her loving children’s faces are with her at all times! A gift that will definitely be treasured for years and years to come.
for the jewelry loving momma:
You’ll learn very quickly throughout this list how much I absolutely love personalized gifts. This one is a family tree necklace with all of her favorite people’s birthstones and initials on it — her children’s! With this gift, she can physically always keep you close to her heart, right where you always are.
The same concept as the necklace above, but in a bracelet form. Plus it resembles an Alex & Ani bracelet, but it’s more customized!
I know I can’t be the only one who’s mom used to sing this song to them. Pay tribute to such a sweet memory with these matching necklaces! Another one that I’ve personally gifted and love to this day.
Matching rings, one saying “my daughter. my friend”, and the other one inscribed with “my mom. my friend” are great for BFF mom & daughters. I have a similar one with my momma and I wear it each and every day, even after three years!
for the tech loving momma:
If your momma is glued to her phone, what better way to remind her of your love than taking the time to make her a one-of-a-kind phone case? You can keep it simple with just words, or import pictures into fun layouts that can cover her entire case. She’ll always see your loving face whenever she picks up her phone, even if you don’t call too often.
Sure this one might not be totally personalized — but in a way it is! Think about it, what’s more personalized than your own mini technological personal assistant? I know that my mom sure could use some extra hands every once in a while, so this would be a great gift to alleviate some of the mundane tasks that can be Alexa can do for her!
for the beauty loving momma:
Get the gift that keeps on giving! Get her a three month subscription to one of the first (and most successful!) beauty boxes. She can go in, personalize her preferences, then receive fun little gift boxes of beauty goodies for the next three months!
Everyone is so different, and so is our hair, so why are we still buying generically produced shampoo and conditioner?! Let your momma pamper herself every time she washes her hair by letting her customize her very own, very unique formula of shampoo and conditioner. Look good, feel good, right?
for the foodie momma:
What better gift for a foodie momma than a cookbook personalized exclusively for her? Tasty videos are mesmerizing to watch as is, and now she can have all the recipes she wants at her fingertips!
Not only are the tins itself adorable, but you also have the option of customizing a label and leaving a sweet message for her to read while drinking her tea! Perfect for any tea lover, and for that price, you can maybe even buy a few!
and there it is folks!
I hope my gift guide sparked some inspiration on how you can spoil your momma this Mother’s Day. If all else fails, give her a big hug and genuinely tell her how much she means to you — no gift can beat sincere love!
What are you planning on getting your mom for this Mother’s Day? Can’t wait to hear!
